Why is it so much cheaper than buying direct?
Two reasons stack. First, this is not a new case: it is RE-CRAFTED — bought back and rebuilt by RIMOWA, which already sells at roughly half of new. What condition are the cases in?
Pre-owned and refurbished. The mechanics — wheels, latches, locks, telescopic handle, lining — are rebuilt by RIMOWA technicians across 30 points of control, so the case functions as a new one does. The shell is deliberately left as it is: expect scratches, scuffs and small dents from a previous life. RIMOWA calls them travel scars and refuses to sand them off. If you want a flawless surface, buy new.
Which size should I choose?
Cabin S (32 L) clears the strictest carry-on gauges and suits up to 3 days. Cabin (36 L) is the classic, for 3–4 days. Cabin Plus (45 L) is the roomiest carry-on, for 4–5 days — note that Cabin and Cabin Plus exceed some domestic US carriers’ stated limits, though they fit standard overhead bins.
